About Wellesley, MA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Wellesley, Massachusetts was settled over 350 years ago, at which time it was given the name Contentment. This was changed to its present name in 1881 when it officially separated from the neighboring town of Needham. By the 1920s it was recognized as one of Boston's leading suburbs, a distinction which the Norfolk County town of 28,000 residents retains to this day.

Wellesley is noted for its educational institutions which include Wellesley CollegeBabson College, part of the campus of Olin College, and one of the campuses of Massachusetts Bay Community College. Famous residents have included “America the Beautiful” author Katharine Lee Bates and novelist Vladimir Nabokov, both of whom taught at Wellesley College, as well as poet Sylvia Plath and former Red Sox pitcher Daisuke Matsuzaka.

Wellesley's climate tends toward cold, snowy winters, and the town also gets a higher than average amount of rainfall. Summers, however, are fairly mild, with July temperatures topping out around 85 degrees. The town's most popular annual event, Wellesley's Wonderful Weekend, is held in mid-May, and features a parade, fireworks, rides, games, a dog show and historical reenactors. Other events include the Massachusetts Horticultural Society's Mass Marketplace Festival in August and the Wellesley Hills Junior Women's Club craft festival known as Wellesley Marketplace, which is held in November.
