About Jamaica Plain, MA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts was originally part of Roxbury, but split away to become part of West Roxbury in 1851 and was then annexed into Boston in 1874. Jamaica Plan became one of the nation's first streetcar suburbs, and today is a neighborhood which has been substantially gentrified and is home to a large number of professionals as well as artists and musicians. Its population of around 37,500 is fairly diverse, with a significant -speaking population from the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Puerto Rico.

Jamaica Plain contains or borders four parks which belong to the “Emerald Necklace” designed in the 19th century by Frederick Law Olmsted: Jamaica PondArnold ArboretumFranklin Park and Olmsted Park. Jamaica Plain is also home to a thriving arts scene, which includes such organizations as the Metropolitan Wind Symphony and the Boston Cyberarts gallery. The annual JP Music Festival in September is a free day-long concert held at Pinebank Field which showcases neighborhood musicians.

Winters in Jamaica Plain are cold and snowy, but that doesn't stop the community from going all-out for the holidays with the First Church Holiday Fair and some of Boston's best neighborhood lighting displays. First Church, which dates back to colonial times, also hosts a Spring Fair in sunny, pleasant June.
