About Milford, MA - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Milford, Massachusetts was settled in 1662 and incorporated as a town in 1780. Its original claim to fame was a type of pink granite discovered there. Milford granite was very popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, used in the construction of the Boston Public Library's McKim building, which dates from 1895, and New York City's main post office, the 1912 James A. Farley Post Office Building. Today Milford has a population of nearly 28,000 and is home to the Milford Regional Medical Center, which is known for its cancer treatment facility.

Milford's Memorial Hall was built in 1884 out of Milford granite and brownstone and was dedicated as a Civil War memorial. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 and underwent a restoration completed in 2002; today it houses the Milford Historical Commission's museum which houses one of the nation's finest collections of Civil War memorabilia. The Milford Town Library, which was established in 1858, occupied Memorial Hall for 100 years, but its current facility was constructed in 1986 and extensively renovated in 2007.

Milford has a typical New England climate. Winters are long and cold and snowy, but summers are warm and pleasant. One of Milford's most popular annual events is its Independence Day fireworks show held in Plains Park. The two-day Portuguese Picnic, which features live music and a parade, is also held each July.
